  • Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Plan check person is on duty in office every business day after 2:00 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS

  • By law, the local building department is prohibited from issuing a building permit
     until the Department of Environmental Health reviews them first.
  • Must review plans within the first 20 working days (legally mandated to do so)
  • Four (4) sets of detailed plans and specifications must be submitted.  All plans must
    be accompanied by a food construction plan application form and required plan check fee.
  • If plans are not complete or if modifications to the plans are required the clock stops
     until the client can make changes.  Once review of submitted corrections is completed, 
    review of new plans continues. 
  • A remodel is an alteration to the structure or equipment of an existing food establishment currently under permit.  The charge for remodels is one-half (1/2) of that charged for new construction of there is no change of ownership.

  • Service is not available.
    Department staff reviews all plans.

FEES

  • Plan check fees for a food establishment are $1,010.   (Fee schedule is on website.)
