EXPRESS PLAN CHECK
  • Click on City Name to access the City's Building Department web site for location and express plan check hours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Interior improvements for B occupancy in 3,000 square feet or less.
  • Interior modifications for warehouses of less than 50,000 square feet 
    (project may include office space of less than 3,000 square feet).
  • Interior modifications of retail spaces of less than 1,500 square feet 
    or 49 occupants.
  • Restaurants and deli spaces with less than a 49 occupancy total, with 
    a current "B" occupancy.
  • The T. I. does not provide for storage or use of hazardous materials 
    in the tenant space.
  • The T. I. does not propose alterations or modifications to the structural 
    systems of the building. (Structural modifications required to install roof 
    mounted mechanical equipment are allowed.)
  • For food handling facilities; the applicant must obtain approval from 
    the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency and the 
    Union Sanitary District prior to counter review.

T. I. PERMITS
  • 3 - 4 weeks for approval if plans are clean.

THIRD PARTY PLAN CHECK SERVICES

No service is available

  • Coordinates all activities in house. The City of Fremont will send to 
    outside plan checker when they cannot get to the project in a timely 
    fashion due to extra work loads.
FEES
  • Based on 5% to 6% (approx.) of total project valuation
